This Cauliflower Steak Recipe suggests that cauliflower can be sliced into thick "steaks" for a hearty entree or side dish. We chose to use Mid-Eastern style spices to give it an unusual flair. Start with an organic cauliflower head and slice it into "steaks" or nice thick (but flat) pieces.
Season both sides with your favorite flavors. My suggestion is to use aromatics such as AllSpice (cinnamon, nutmeg, cloves), Sweet Paprika, Coriander, Hot Curry, Sage....
Next choose a pan and get it pre-heated so you can achieve good browning. I used the Titanium Grill pan that is 11x11 pictured here. But any of our frying pans with flat surfaces will also work. Once the pan is hot, add the cauliflower. You can use oil if you choose, but it is not necessary.
If you wish to speed up the cooking process, add the lid and vapor cook it to perfection. We have served it here topped with a healty dollop of Baba Ganoush. Recipe is here.
