A delicious meal takes a huge time investment right?! Not so. Beef Short Ribs can be enjoyed quickly if you vapor cook them on your Stovetop. See how easy this truly is with Titanium cookware in the drivers' seat. Start by sprinkling Salt and Pepper on your ribs and put them into your preheated HOT Titanium Pan. A sauce pan is best so you have room for the sauce...
Gather these ingredients:
After you have seared the ribs/browned them on all sides (approx 8 minutes), pour out the drippings and set them aside on a plate. Add all of the vegetables to the pan (onions, carrots and celery) and saute them until the onions are browned. Next add the flour and tomato paste and cook, stirring constantly. Stir in the wine next.
Now add the Short Ribs and any juices that have accumulated..... Bring this to a boil, then lower the heat and simmer until wine is reduced by half... about 25 minutes. Next add all of the herbs and spices along with the garlic. Stir in the stock... Bring to a boil... Now this is where it get DIFFERENT from what you are used to...
Instead of popping this in the oven for hours, simply lower your heat to LOW to MED. Add the Titanium Cookware LID... this lid creates the vapor oven for you, right on your stovetop and will cook this to perfection... really fast! Cook until tender (1 hour to 1 1/2 hours depending on the size of your meat pieces).
Now that it is cooked, transfer the ribs to a plate and strain the vegetables out of your sauce and discard them. Season to taste and make gravy if you wish.
Serve over mashed potatoes with the gravy spooned over the top. Around here we don't eat mashed potatoes so often, so I've served ours with Spaghetti Squash. And on another evening, we served it with wild rice and a vapor cooked yam. See how to do the spaghetti squash and yam quickly stovetop as well... here.
Serve and enjoy!
